Education:Access and Quality in Nigeria memo

Have you ever walked into a school to find children sitting on bare floor or on grasses to receive lessons? Many times, I question why the standard education in Nigeria is depreciating instead of appreciating. There are very little or no resources in the schools. The quality and access to good education is lacking. It is so unfortunate that most public/government schools have been completely abandoned by the government if not for the intervention of some charity and development organisations. The answer to the question above is not far fetched. Private schools have taken the place of public schools while the public schools have been left in their deplorable state. The rich and those who are able to afford private schools, send their children there, while others send their children outside the shores of the country to study. However, how long will we have to put up with these poor standards of our education system? I am looking forward to when the commitment to the development to the education system in communities will be one of the criteria for electing candidates into government regardless of the position they are vying for. I think the whole idea of government leaders sending their children to private schools and outside the country is not helping as this makes many of them nonchalant about the system. i am always happy when I and my friend learn about the successes of School Based Management Committees (SBMCs)in some communities. Since communities can not wait for the government for everything, it is good to learn about some of the efforts of these SBMCs in taking ownership of the schools in their communities, re-building dilapidated structures, sourcing for funds and equipping the schools with resources. I am looking forward to when our education system will grow to the level of competing amongst the world’s best schools and institutions. When we will have political leaders, who will not only be concerned about their own political ambitions but also make the problems of the education sector their problems while working towards the improvement of the sector and access to quality education for all.

FAKTA SEBENAR LELAKI

 • 99.9% lelaki amat pandai masak kari…..tapi megi kari saja la.
• Lelaki kadang2 memang suka memasak….tapi amat malas nak basuh periuk belanga serta pinggan mangkuk…
• Apabila lelaki memasak umpama sedang bertukang umah… bukan
main bising lagi.
• Adalah kebiasaan lelaki memasak tanpa memakai baju…pastu,
sambil isap rokok plak…

• Menu utama masakan lelaki adalah telur goreng, sardin, telur
goreng dan juga meggi. Tak ketinggalan jugak kicap masin…

• Jika seorang lelaki yg rajin memasak, anda akan dapati gas
masakan akan cepat habis, kerana lelaki memasak selalunya guna
api yg kuat…cepat sikit masak.
• Keadaan dapur rumah orang lelaki yang bersepah sepah adalah
satu pemandangan biasa yang mempunyai nilai artistiknya yang
tersendiri…

• Dan lelaki tidak akan merungut sekiranya masakan itu dimasak
oleh seorang lelaki..tetapi peng’komplen’ nombor satu jika
makanan itu di masak oleh wanita..
Antara sebab sebab lelaki memasak:
• Malas nak pegi kedai
• Hampir hampir pokai
• Nak menghabiskan stock makanan yang dah nak expired
• Mental theraphy
• Konon konon nak practice…nanti buleh amik hati pasangan
• Buang tebiat…

Walaupun begitu, chef chef terkemuka dunia masih terdiri daripada
kaum lelaki......hehehehee...

6 SEBAB BERUNTUNGNYA PEREMPUAN MEMPUNYAI RAHIM~

 1.) Dia bekerja dengan Allah..jadi 'kilang
'manusia.Tiap-tiap bulan dia diberi cuti bergaji penuh..
7 sehingga 15 hari sebulan dia tak wajib sembahyang tetapi Allah
anggap diwaktu itu sembahyang terbaik darinya.

2.) Cuti bersalin juga sehingga 60 hari. Cuti ini bukan cuti suka hati
tapi, cuti yang Allah beri sebab dia bekerja dengan Allah..Orang
lelaki tak ada cuti dari sembahyang...sembahyang wajib
baginya dari baligh sehingga habis nyawanya..

3.) Satu lagi berita gembira untuk wanita, sepanjang dia
mengandung Allah sentiasa mengampunkan dosanya..lahir saja bayi, seluruh
dosanya habis.. Inilah nikmat Tuhan beri kepada wanita, jadi
kenapa perlu takut nak beranak? Marilah kita pegang kepada tali
Allah. Seandainya wanita itu mati sewaktu bersalin, itu dianggap
mati syahid.. Allah izinkan terus masuk Syurga..Untuk orang kafir dia
tak dapat masuk Syurga tapi Allah beri kelonggaran siksa kubur.

4.) Untuk peringatan semua wanita yang bersuami: Seluruh
kebaikan suaminya, semuanya isteri dapat pahala tetapi dosa-
dosa suami dia tak tanggung.

5.) Diakhirat nanti seorang wanita solehah akan terperanjat
dengan Pahala extra yang banyak dia terima diatas segala kebaikan
suaminya yang tak disedari.. Bila dia lihat suaminya tengah
terhegeh-hegeh di titian Sirat,dia tak nak masuk syuga tanpa
suaminya, jadi dia pun memberi pahalanya kepada suami untuk
lepas masuk syurga. Didunia lagi, kalau suami dalam
kesusahan isteri boleh bantu tambah
lagi di akhirat. Kalau seorang isteri asyik merungut, mulut
selalu muncung terhadap suami dia tak akan dapat pahala extra
ini.

6. )Manakala suami pula mempunyai tugas-tugas berat
didalam dan diluar rumah, segala dosa-dosa anak isteri
yang tak dididik dia akan tanggung ditambah lagi dengan
dosa-dosa yang lain. Dinasihatkan kepada semua
wanita supaya faham akan syariat Allah agar tidak derhaka
denganNya. Dan semua lelaki fahami hati
naluri seorang wanita & isteri agar tidak derhaka denganNYA.......

Invitation Towards Peace!

There were two brothers, who grew up together in a family. First one was a successful school principal, very disciplined and organized. He was respected by students & teachers alike. When asked about the reason for his success, he replied, " It's all because of my father. He was a disciplinarian & never tolerated breaking of any rules.
